Animals and plants brought into Australia from other countries are known as Introduced Species . Some of these animals are predators and kill native animals and some compete with native species for food and others destroy habitats. Introduced animals are also known as feral animals because they are wild. Animals such as rabbits, camels, donkeys, horses, goats, mice, rats and pigs have all been introduced into Australia. They can be found running wild. They compete with native animals for food and shelter and few native animals survive. This is just as bad with introduced plants. Many of these become weeds and successfully compete with native plant.
